Villa Apartments: Comoon Boutique Villas has a collection of modern apartment-style holiday rentals that range from one to six bedrooms. We stayed in the one-bedroom Villa Yao Noi. It has a clean and cosy open-plan living, kitchen and dining space that opens to an outdoor deck with a small pool, and a bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a balcony on the upper level.
Amenities: Villa Yao Noi has a pool, sun loungers, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, gas stoves, blender, coffee machine, toaster, utensils and cutlery.
Dining: Breakfast is included in your daily rate and served every morning in your apartment by Comoon staff. You can also call and arrange for in-room dining much like a hotel, or simple head down to one of the many restaurants in the main Chaweng Beach drag.
Location: The villas are located very high on a steep hill with a stunning view of Chaweng Bay. Unfortunately, during the time that we were here, there was construction in the area, which marred the overall appeal of the site.
Service: The villa manager Tristan was very helpful and friendly, and transport to and from the airport is free of charge.
Downside: Privacy can be an issue. The partitions between the apartments is sparse so it is possible to see and hear your neighbours next door. The steep uphill path to the apartments also means that a moped or other form of transportation is a must, unless you want a workout every time you head down to Chaweng Beach and up to your villa.
Upside: If you’re looking for a place to stay close to the nightlife and dining zones of Chaweng, but also want great views, high quality interiors and amenities at a reasonable price, then Comoon is ideal.
Room rate: from US$187 at low season to US$287 at high season.
