Fans of the BBC TV serioes “Poldark”, “The Lord of the Rings” or “Game of Thrones “ will find the landscapes of Cornwall absolutely delightful. If you like history, culture, dining and shopping then head for the bustling seaside town of Saint Ive’s, the port town of Padstow or Tintagel to visit the ruins of King Arthur’s castle. The sleepy port town of Mousehole and Minack Theatre in Porthcurno are also worth a visit.
If you want to immerse yourself in nature – which I think is the most wonderful “attraction” here, then head to Perranporth Beach where you can take a two-hour walk along the South West Coast Path all the way to the charming little town of Saint Agnes while enjoying dramatic clifftop views. There are also plenty of peaceful country lanes, abandoned tin mines and forest reserves throughout the county like Ventongimps Moor to amble around.
Cuisine: Cream tea (scones with clotted cream and jam), Cornish pasties, sausage rolls and all kinds of pies are the order of the day here. Visit Callestick Farm for delicious Cornish ice cream and Healy’s Cornish Cider Farm for a cup of heady apple cider.
