Layout: A private, sunlit outdoor terrace, Santorini cave-style interiors with a combined dining and living area, two bedrooms – a spacious master bedroom with en suite bathroom, and a smaller bedroom with a domed ceiling; a large bathroom and kitchen. Accommodates a maximum of six guests.
Facilities: There is a small kitchen with an espresso machine, a kettle, a stove for cooking, a sink, a small fridge, cutlery and utensils. Television, heater, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi are available.
Dining: The Erotokritos bakery, just a five-minute walk from the house in the little town centre is excellent for sandwiches and sweet treats. Also in the town centre are a few Greek restaurants and a supermarket. There is also a nice souvlaki restaurant in the direction of Fira. You can also take an easy a 15-20 minute walk to Fira where there are many more dining options.
Location: Close to Santorini’s main town Fira, yet tucked away enough so you get plenty of privacy. Located deep in the heart of the village, down a narrow, car-free, cobblestone lane, staying here allows you to experience a traditional local Santorini village.
Service: Host Rodoula was very friendly and helpful and even offered me a ride into Fira with her. Upon checking in, she sent me a message to check that I had settled in ok, and to ask if I had any questions.
Things to do while here: Walk to Fira, grab a midday coffee and a spinach pie at Erotokritos, or explore the narrow village streets.
Room rate at time of review: €154 (US$174) Euros per night
