Located in the west coast of Southern Thailand, facing the Andaman Sea, the province of Krabi is famed for its soft-sand beaches, craggy, limestone cliffs that jut majestically out of the waters, and its biodiversity-rich, dense mangrove swamps. Less crowded than its cousin Phuket, Krabi still has a handful of peaceful beaches where you can enjoy some serene R&R with plenty or sand and sunshine.

If you want to spend your vacation near the sea, scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking and island hopping are great activities. Hire a local longtail boat and spend a day exploring the islands of Koh Poda, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Hong. If you’re more a landlubber who loves nature, you can rock climb or explore the jungles, caves, waterfalls and wildlife in national parks such as Khao Phanom Bencha, Thung Teao Forest or Than Bok Khorani.

Cuisine: Krabi has a wide selection of Thai restaurants as well a good selection of international cuisine, but what you should miss when you’re here is the fresh seafood. Many of the hotel resorts have trendy beachfront restaurants where you can enjoy a dinner or BBQ fish, squid or shellfish while watching the breathtaking, neon-hued sunset.
